AlllavishedpraiseonHangzhouforitsnaturalscenery,thedramaticchangesinitsurbanlandscape,andthecity鈥檚culturalheritageandrapidcontemporarydevelopment.EachsaidthateverytriptheymadetoHangzhourevealedsomethingnew.DatukSiewKaWeiobservedthatHangzhouperfectlyblendshistoryandmodernity,andisamust-seecityinChina.HealsopointedoutthatSoutheastAsiancountriesarethefirstchoiceformanyChinesetouriststakingoutboundtrips,andthatHangzhouhaspioneereddevelopmentofthenew鈥淚nternet+tourism鈥漨odelinChina.HehopesthatHangzhouandSoutheastAsiancountrieswilldeepentheirtourismandculturalexchangesandsopromotedevelopmentofoneanother鈥檚culturaltourismsectors.
Withthesupportoftop-leveldepartments,suchasthePublicityDepartmentoftheCPCCentralCommitteeandtheMinistryofCulture,andthroughcoordinationandarrangementsoftheEmbassyofChinaintheKingdomofThailandandChinaCulturalCenter(Bangkok),aforumwillbeheldonFebruary17,2017attheChinaCulturalCenter鈥檚Bangkokoffice.Foreignanddomesticguestsandrepresentativesinthecultural,tourism,andmediasectorswillbeinvitedtodiscusscooperativeopportunitiesforcommondevelopmentthatwillstrengthentheculturalbondbetweenChinaandcountriesalongtheBeltandRoad.
AftercompletionoftheHangzhouactivity,aseriesofpublicityendeavorsforothercities,suchasXi鈥檃n,Fuzhou,andGuiyang,willbelaunchedwiththejointeffortsofbothdomesticandforeignmedia,topromotethesecitiesthroughouttheworld.
ThoseactivitieswillgiveanauthenticpresentationofcitiesinChina,andarealsoconducivetopromotingpragmaticcooperationbetweenChinaandforeigncountriesandencouraginginnovativecooperationmodels.TheseprojectsgiveChineseandforeignmediaworkersthechancetolearnfromoneanother,andsofurtherfacilitatetheirexchangesandcooperation.
