Thishasledtotheevolutionofinterpersonalrelationshipsasbillionsofpeoplespendalotoftimeeverydayontheirfavoriteplatforms.Forinstance,Tencent,aChineseInternetgiant,estimatesthat38billionmessagesareshareddailyonitsWeChatplatformalone.Throughsharingofcontentandknowledge,culturesblendtogether,friendshipsareforged,andpeoplefromverydifferentbackgroundslearntocultivatetheirdifferences.Itistruethatsocialmediaisadouble-edgedsword.Admittedly,theymoveusawayfromeachotherandlimittravelandvisits,especiallybetweenfamilies;butsocialmediaistherealproofthattheworldhasbecomeaglobalvillage.Webuildfriendshipswithpeoplewenevermetandwhomwemaynevermeet.Wegiveourpointofviewonthenewsofcountrieswenevervisited.

Leakageofpersonalinformationandtheprivacyissueshouldalsobeconcernswhencommunicatingviasocialmedia,whichcancausefinanciallossesandexposureofone鈥檚personallife.Ireadreportsofsomecelebrities鈥檖ersonalsocialmediaaccountsbeinghackedandtheirreputationbeingdamaged.Thisisoneofthedangerousdisadvantagesofsocialmedia.
