Today,thedeathpenalty,whichhasexistedfornearly2,000yearsinhumanhistory,hasbecomeacontroversialdebate.Thepracticehasalonghistoryandisstillusedinmanyplaces.Shoulditberetainedasdeterrence,orshoulditbeabandonedasbrutality?Inmyopinion,ifacriminaltakesawayhumanlife,he/sheshouldbepunishedforit.Ifweeliminatethedeathpenaltyimposedbyourcourts,therewouldbeamajorincreaseintherateofcrimesperyear.Theonlywaytostopcriminalsfromcommittingtheseterriblecrimesistoshowthemtheconsequencesofdoingthem.

Somehumanitariansarguethatitisacruelprocessusedtoendanotherhumanbeingslife,statingthattheexecutionisinhumane.Butovertheyears,thisprocesshasgraduallybecomemorehumanesotheargumentthatit鈥檚acruelprocessisinvalid.Inmyopinion,illegalperpetratorsshouldbepunishedaccordingly.It鈥檚nousedebatingwithhumanitarianswhenitcomestohowcriminalsshouldbejudgedbecausetheyneverseemtoconsiderthesocialoutcomeoftheseoffencesandthenegativeimpactonsociety.Ishouldadmitthatrehabilitationisusefulintransformingapersontobecomingsociallyacceptable,butthefinaljudgmentfromjudicialinstitutionsworldwideshouldbejustifiabletothesociety,especiallytothefamiliesofthevictims.
